HISTORY

First Graduating Class, 1999
The Center for Massage & Natural Health was founded in 1990 in Santa Barbara, California, by Peggy M. Huff. In 1994, Ms. Huff relocated the Center to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina and began a massage schools Asheville project.

CFMNH’s Therapy Center became one of the most popular places in Asheville for massage therapy, and Peggy maintained a private practice until she started her massage school in 1998. The Center for Massage & Natural Health's thriving massage therapy center remains one of the most popular in the area, offering both professional and student massage therapy services.

The Massage Schools Asheville project began development in 1996 and offered its first massage school Asheville Certification Program in 1998. Since that time, it has drawn national and international students interested in the field of massage and bodywork therapy and the healing arts.
CFMNH's massage school received Institutional Accreditation by COMTA (Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation) in 2006. It is the only proprietary massage school in Western North Carolina that is COMTA accredited and Title IV approved.

CFMNH's massage schools Asheville project received Title IV approval by the United States Department of Education to receive Federal Financial Aid in July 2009 and our qualifying students now receive Pell Grants and Stafford Loans to come to our massage school.

Since its opening, CFMNH's massage school has had 70+ successful graduating classes and over 1000 graduate students, as well as thousands of continuing education certificate holders. Massage Schools Asheville project has been a huge success.
