Federal Financial Aid

CFMNH is proud to be the only massage school in Asheville approved by the United States Department of Education as a Title IV school, offering our students the opportunity to qualify for Federal Financial Aid.

Applying for Federal Financial Aid is completely free and we suggest you fill out your FAFSA as early in the application process as possible to see what you qualify for. Many of our students qualify for aid packages that cover 25-100% of Tuition & Supplies. There are a number of financing options you may qualify for, these are: 
• Federal Pell Grant Program (up to $4,130)
• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program (FSEOG) (up to $160)
• Direct Stafford Subsidized Loans (up to $2,309)
• Direct Stafford Unsubsidized Loans (up to $3,958)

To begin your Financial Aid process, you must first fill out your FAFSA (If possible try to link your tax information from the IRS using the IRS-Data Retrieval Tool). After completing your FAFSA, our Financial Aid Director will work with you directly on your Financial Aid Package. Emergency Financial Grants to Students / Scholarships & Other Financial Assistance  

Emergency Financial Grants for Students (CARES Act)
1. Center for Massage & Natural Health  signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
2. Center for Massage & Natural Health received $22,276 on July 13th, 2020.  The School has developed an objective set of criteria for each eligible student to participate.  At this time the school estimates that about 60 students will be eligible to participate during the Covid-19 emergency period where they are qualified by their time in school during the emergency period.  The School received an Institutional Grant of $22,275 on September 14, 2020.
3. The school has issued 43 students actively enrolled in the program $10,231.00. 
4. The school estimates that 60 students will be eligible to received a grant during the emergency grant period according to TIV of the Higher Education Act and section 1800r(a)(1) of the Cares Act.
5. At this time the total number of students that have received a grant equals 43.  There is $12,045 remaining to be issued with several checks scheduled for Q1, 2021.  At this time the school has purchased institutional equipment and made adjustments in the schedule to reduce the impact of Covid-19.  $12,789 has been spent on Covid related equipment and supplies.  The remaining is earmarked for distance learning instruction.
6. The school policy is that actively enrolled students receive a grant based on the number of hours completed during the emergency relief period beginning March 15th, 2020 and ending whenever the State and Federal Government end emergency procedures or 1 year after the grant award date of June 18th, 2020 (whichever comes first).
7. Each student must certify that they are Title IV eligible pursuant to federal guidelines and use the money in a manner that best helps them to offset the economic disruption caused by Covid-19.

We offer up to $1500 in Academic Scholarships. Scholarships are available to all students and are based on prior education and past GPA. Ask for more information during your enrollment process.  Limited work options are open from time-to-time for students based on school needs and individual qualifications.

The Center for Massage & Natural Health’s Massage Therapy Certification Program is approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency for the enrollment of persons eligible for education assistance benefits from the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Qualifying veterans may be able to have part or all of their tuition paid for by the Veterans Administration. Center for Massage & Natural Health is approved to accept America Awards. Each AmeriCorps member who successfully completes a term of AmeriCorps service will receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award*. You can use your Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to pay educational expenses at qualified institutions of higher education, for educational training, or to repay qualified student loans. You have up to seven years after your term of service has ended to claim the award. If you successfully complete a term of service in AmeriCorps VISTA, you are eligible to receive either a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or an end-of-service stipend. You may be entitled to a full scholarship, including tuition, books and supplies, through the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:  
• You have a physical, mental, learning disability, or emotional impairment that affects your ability to find or maintain employment, and
• You require VR services to get ready for, find or keep a job
You and your rehabilitation counselor will develop a partnership and explore your options throughout the rehabilitation process.
