A little about the modality:

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork based on the principals of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has been practiced for over 1500 years, and is a recognized part of the health care system in Japan. Shiatsu increases the flow of qi, or vital life force, throughout the body by skillfully applying pressure, stretching, and tapotement to acupressure points and energy meridians. Shiatsu releases tension in the body-mind, enabling clients to feel deeply relaxed yet rejuvenated after sessions and promotes the body’s innate healing of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances.

Your instructor:

Diane began studying the healing arts in 2001 when she fell in love with Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She studied Shiatsu at CenterPoint School of Massage and Shiatsu in Minnesota. She opened a small private practice in 2003 which grew into her full-time work. She combines Shiatsu, Qigong, and Life Coaching to help her clients transform stress and tension into greater clarity and life purpose. She moved to Asheville in 2016 with her husband and 2 children where she teaches Shiatsu and Business at the Center for Massage, coaches bodywork therapists and healers to grow their business.
